To promote their new album,Tonight, set to be released in early next year, Franz Ferdinand have teamed up with Beatport to put together a remix competition. Remixers are invited to download two guitar samples from the track Ulysses and send in their remixes. The winner will be choosen by a public voting system.

The Glasgow four hope not to influence the producers and remixers out there, so they plan not to release the track until after the contest is over. If you are planning on entering the contest, best to submit your submission prior to listening to the track! If you just can’t help yourself, here is a live version of the track Ulysses, via JP’s Blog.

In addition to bragging rights, the grand prize winner will have their remix released on Domino Recods, 500€ and $100 gift card for Beatport. There is no restrictions on the style of remixes they will accept, they are looking for creativity! The competition is only open from November 4th – 25th 2008, so you had better get busy with the mixmasterin’!!
