Way Down in the Hole – M.I.A. with Blaqstarr

This has been out for quite a while, since late last year actually. M.I.A. recruited Blaqstarr to do this very respectable Tom Waits cover. With Tom Wait’s words, M.I.A.’s style and Blaqstarr’s vocals, this track is well-worth posting after the fact!

Apparently the video cost them a whopping $9.95!

I’m a bit late to the party on this one, as D Squared called it last year, but it’s still hilarious 8 months later! Two Djs, FnDannyBoy and DJ Kue, got into a remix battle over P-Money’s Everything. Check it:

I think Shakira has enough talent that she doesn’t have to be showing all that skin, but the scantly clad cage bits, and the half cat suit really show off her unique, and super flexible dance moves in her newest video for She Wolf:

I’m reading this book called Medici Effect by Frans Johansson that credits Shakira for effectively finding innovation in music by blending Latin, American and Lebanese culture. She uses the intersection between the cultures that have influences her to create something completely new. Its an interesting book tackling the difficult topic of creativity and innovation.

David Guetta’s newest offering hit the shelves today, it’s called One Love. There’s both gems and cheese on this album. My fave track from the record is about the intertubes already, but I’ll give it to you again. It’s called Memories and features Kid Cudi.
