Come Talk to MeBon Iver (Originally Peter Gabriel)

Early March 2010 Peter Gabriel released an album of covers, Scratch My Back, in which he did the songs of many artists he loves, which will be reciprocated by these artists doing covers of his songs. The first to reciprocate, as far as I am aware, is Bon Iver. In return for Gabriel’s beautiful version of Flume, Bon Iver did an amazing version of Come Talk to Me.

I LOVED Peter Gabriel’s album Us when it came out in 1992. Bon Iver’s grateful and respectful tribute to Mr. Gabriel is so beautiful! I cannot stop listening to it. A double single that features both Bon Iver’s version of Come Talk to Me and Peter Gabriel’s rendition of Flume was released on Record Store Day, April 17th last month.

Going OnGnarls Barkley

In honour of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in June Puma has put out this rather beautiful tribute to the game some call soccer, and most call football. The song that gives this commercial life is Gnarls Barkley’s Going On, available on the duo’s second album, The Odd Couple.
