The 2011 Ford Explorer has many commercials in their “Go. Do” campaign. This one stands out from the crowd for me with the effective use of Jónsi‘s first single, Go Do, from his solo album, Go. Jónsi, with his unmistakable vocals that are synonymous with Sigur Rós, took some time to go out on his own, doing a solo album in English, a departure from the usual invented language, Hopelandic, or sometimes Icelandic lyrics. Its well worth checking out!

I have yet to give Grizzly Bear an honest try. I’m sure they are awesome, with the catchy ditty’s they have in commercials and all,  but you know, there’ s only so much time in the day! I’m grateful I didn’t miss their delightful cover of Hot Chip‘s Boy from School, because it is something special, beautiful and contemplative.
