Trouble (live from Radio 1) – Ray LaMontagne

In this adorable commercial for insurance from Travelers man’s best friend is fraught with worries over the security of his precious bone! So much so that he even puts it in a safety deposit box at the bank! Accompanying this lovable dog’s quest for security for his most valued possession is Ray LaMontagne’s tenderly woeful vocals singing of worries in the song Trouble. The song is the title track on LaMontagne’s 2004 album, which you can check out at amazon:

Burning For YouShiny Toy Guns

I learned how to drive in a 1985 white Lincoln town car… let me tell you, I was pretty pimpin’! I believe that car is still in my family. Needless to say, I have a special place in my heart for Lincoln.

The track in this upbeat luxury car is Shiny Toy Guns‘s electro rendition of Blue Oyster Cult‘s Burning For You.

Made Up Love Song #43Guillemots

The popular stroller manufacturer Bugaboo released this add to show it’s support for the Global Fund to eliminate AIDS in Africa. The song, which makes this ad so endearing, is one of my favourite tunes from the Guilemots Made Up Love Song #43 from their 2006 album Through the Windowpane available in all fine music outlets, including Amazon:

Ash KoleyDon’t Let Your Feet Touch Ground

If you are a Canadian, you have likely seen this commercial for our national lottery many times. The commercial features the catchy tune Don’t Let Your Feet Touch Ground by Ash Koley, a band named after their Winnipeg born female singer.

The song was recently used by a young, patriotic group who, donned in Olympic red mittens, flash mobbed at Robson Square with a choreographed routine to the delight of the crowd. Check out the video:

Aren’t flash mobs the coolest?

Petra Haden -Let your Love Flow

Perhaps I’m biased because I really want a Toyota Prius, but I still love this commercial. It is creative, and uplifting. Who doesn’t like winter turning into spring? The ad features Petra Haden‘s rendition of Let Your Love Flow, a song originally written in 1976 by one of Niel Diamond’s roadies Larry E. Williams.
