JT

I have long thought of Justin Timberlake as the Ferris Bueller of the music industry, since everyone seems to like him, “they think he’s a righteous dude”. I sure do anyways!

Enjoy some classic JT remixes:

Florence & the Machine hit up Ibiza this year… I wasn’t there, but I can say that it was bloody beautiful!

Check out this recording of the powerful songstress belting out her version of You go the love at Glastonbury this year.

And don’t miss this cover/remix hybrid of the Florence & the Machine cover by The XX, because it’s pretty neat.

I’m completely against bottled water, as it’s a waste, and the tap water where I come from is delicious! Still though, this ad from Evian is pretty neat:

Those crazy babies are getting down to The  Sugarhill Gang’s 1979 classic track redone by Dan the Automator, featuring Chali 2 Na, & Domino & Casual from the  Hieroglyphics.

P-Money featuring Vince Harder

P-Money featuring Vince Harder

I’m a bit late to the party on this one, as D Squared called it last year, but it’s still hilarious 8 months later! Two Djs, FnDannyBoy and DJ Kue, got into a remix battle over P-Money’s Everything. Check it:

Everything ft Vince Harder (FnDannyBoy thinks Kue should F himself Remix)

Everything (DJ Kue is better than the FNDB Remix)

In my humble opinion FnDannyBoy wins… what do you say?

If you like those remixes, maybe you’ll like these, one for each of the contenders in the remix battle:

REM – Losing my Religion (DJ Kue Remix)

Jamie Foxx ft. T-Pain – Blame It (FnDannyBoy Remix)

Shakira is still really hot!

I think Shakira has enough talent that she doesn’t have to be showing all that skin, but the scantly clad cage bits, and the half cat suit really show off her unique, and super flexible dance moves in her newest video for She Wolf:

I’m reading this book called Medici Effect by Frans Johansson that credits Shakira for effectively finding innovation in music by blending Latin, American and Lebanese culture. She uses the intersection between the cultures that have influences her to create something completely new. Its an interesting book tackling the difficult topic of creativity and innovation.

Shakira’s album that She Wolf is to be from is due out in October this year… until then, here’s some remixes of She Wolf:

She Wolf (Moto Blanco Radio Edit)

She Wolf (Calvin Harris Remix)

She Wolf (Deeplick Radio Edit)

Apparently, Shakira means “thankful” in Arabic. I like it!

Tiësto

Tiësto

Tiësto has spent a  lot of time as the number one dj in the world. The reason for this is his skill at creating a moment, and bringing everyone in the audience into one vibe, one rhythm. Each of the following tracks were a part of those moments that makes xeeing Tiësto spin live a must do for every dance music fan.

Float Away (Gabriel & Dresden Edit) – Robbie Rivera Feat Justine Suissa

My Perfect and I have sung the lyrics to this tune to each other many times, in varying levels of seriousness.

I want to take you down by the river
Where you can watch me undress
I want to lie with you in the water
Naked, floating on the sunlight
Float away, with me

Good times!

Twelve (Dousk Mix) – Tilt

Taken from Tiësto’s In Search of Sunrise 4, the instrumental track is trance at its best. Light and dreamy melodys over top of a dancable beat. Beautiful!

Beside Me (Go by DJ Tiesto) – Electro-Prompt

I first heard this tune on the Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1, in 2006 when they replayed Tiësto’s mix from Global Gathering. His set that day was one of the best I have heard to this day. It was packed with epic tunes! Including this one by Electro-Prompt. Of whom I can’t seem to find a web pressence for. If you know anything about them, please let me know via the comments section.

Moonlight PartyFonzerelli

This track is from the same Global Gathering mix. It’s a classic that stirs memories of Ibiza.

Party in the moonlight
Dance to the sunrise
I’m not moving from the dancefloor
